I've received a number of Email messages asking for family information. People are looking for relatives all over the Internet. It seemed to me that I should do my part. And maybe, by listing what I know, other people who are related to me will find me and some useful information.

My Father's Family

My father is Alfred Clifford Thompson. Dad was born in Brooklyn NY in 1925. His parents were Hans Ludvig Thompson (1897-1971) and Clara Neilson (1888-1955). Both of them were born in Norway and came to the US in their teens. I don't know grandma's parents. Grandpa was the son of Thorvald Thomassen (1876-1912) and Othilde (Tilla) Helene Lauritsdaughter (1872-1954) of Vaale Norway. We're not sure what last name grandpa used in Norway or why he was called Thompson in the US. We believe that he used Thomassen and that when he joined the US Army Air Corp shortly after World War I it was anglicized to Thompson. Othilde's parents were Laurits Anton Pedersen (1845- ca 1920) and Olava Maria Kristiansdaughter (1844 - ca 1925) of Vaale Norway. Laurits Pedersen was the son of Peder Larsen (1822-1873) of Vaale and Olea Larsdaughter (1816-1883) of Slagen. Peder was the son of Lars Pedersen (1787- after 1850) of Ramnes and Elen Marie Christensdaughter (1799- after 1850).

My grandfather was one of six children. His siblings were Gerda Othilde (b. 1899), Gunvor Marie (b. 1900), Joergen Kristian (b. 1903) Olga Therese (b. 1906), and Thorstein. I believe that some of them took the family name Thomassen and others took the name Klevjer after the farm where they were from. I believe they all stayed in Norway. I'd love to hear from any of them or their descendents.

My Mother's Family

My mother was Louise Bernice Penner Thompson (1927-1963). She was the daughter of Henrich (Henry) Penner and Agnes Wells Penner. I have a book of the Wells family history but none of it is on-line. More of that family will be supplied one of these days.
